As an iOS Developer at Backlight, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Iconik mobile iOS application. You will work closely with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high quality, performant, and user friendly solutions. You will take ownership of features from start to finish, independently managing workstreams of moderate complexity and proactively influencing team direction and workflows.

Your mission is to deliver solutions that make a real impact for our users while ensuring a seamless and high performance mobile experience.

You will:

• Develop and maintain the Iconik mobile iOS application using SwiftUI and related frameworks

• Implement responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces

• Collaborate with backend teams to consume APIs

• Participate in planning, solution design, and other team activities

• Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code while participating in code reviews and QA sessions

• Manage code in GitHub and follow branching and versioning standards

• Proactively identify issues and propose solutions that balance speed with software quality

• Drive initiatives from ideation to execution, including creating prototypes when needed

WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK

We primarily work with SwiftUI and modern iOS technologies, but we value engineers who are curious and can quickly learn new tools. What matters most is your ability to take ownership, your problem solving skills, and your genuine passion for building exceptional mobile experiences.

You have:

• Experience with SwiftUI and other iOS technologies for building mobile applications that consume REST APIs

• Proficiency with Git and GitHub

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies

• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to take ownership of product areas or features and proactively mitigate risks

• Strong communication skills where you collaborate openly and value teamwork

Bonus points:

• Experience with UIKit and AVFoundation

• Experience with web frontend development using React or similar frameworks

• Experience in SaaS product development

• Experience designing and owning new features end to end
