The Director of FP&A will lead Backlight’s Financial Planning & Analysis function, driving financial insight, performance management, and strategic decision-making across the business. This role owns the company’s financial models, planning processes, and forecasting cadence, and partners closely with the executive team in a PE-backed environment.

YOU WILL

• Lead Backlight’s end-to-end FP&A function, including financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis.

• Own and evolve financial operating models supporting annual budgeting, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts.

• Lead monthly and quarterly performance analysis across revenue, bookings, costs, EBITDA, and cash flow.

• Oversee executive, board, and investor reporting, delivering clear insights across ARR/MRR, retention, and profitability.

• Own revenue and retention modeling, including churn, expansion, GRR, NRR, cohorts, and unit economics.

• Partner closely with the executive team and functional leaders to support strategic initiatives, growth investments, and prioritization.

• Provide financial leadership on strategic projects including M&A, pricing initiatives, and market expansion.

• Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes, systems, and automation to improve scalability and accuracy.

WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK

• 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or Strategic Finance, including people leadership.

• Strong SaaS and recurring revenue experience, with deep understanding of retention metrics.

• Expert financial modeling and analytical skills; advanced Excel required.

• Proven experience leading planning, forecasting, and performance management processes.

• Executive-level communication skills, including board and investor exposure.

• Ability to operate independently and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  Nice-to-have:

• Experience in a PE-backed or investor-driven company.

• Hands-on experience with tools such as NetSuite, Datarails, Looker, or similar.

• M&A or post-acquisition integration experience.
